Trailworx Australia was engaged by the City of Moreton Bay to develop a new purpose-built dirt jump facility at McKenzie Street Park in Dayboro. The project was established as a community-focused pilot program, providing local riders with a progressive and engaging riding space while creating opportunities for young people to become actively involved in the design, construction and ongoing care of the facility.

McKenzie Street Park was selected for its proximity to Dayboro State School, open sight lines and natural downhill gradient. These characteristics provided an ideal setting for a facility designed around rider progression, with the concept incorporating dedicated intermediate and advanced jump lines and provision for future development.

A key part of the project was involving the local riding community directly in the process. Trailworx facilitated community-led design workshops where participants could contribute ideas for track lines, features and jump shapes, with this feedback informing the final design. Local youth were then given the opportunity to participate in a hands-on construction program alongside the Trailworx team, learning about trail building while helping bring the facility to life.

The community-led approach extends beyond construction, with a structured maintenance program designed to re-engage local riders during school holidays. Supported by Trailworx, these sessions provide ongoing technical guidance while encouraging local stewardship and helping ensure the dirt jump features remain safe, rideable and relevant to the community over the long term.
