Trailworx Australia was engaged to design and construct a new 354m
walking track linking a relocated pedestrian crossing with The Crest car
park and the Mount Mitchell walking trail. The original crossing location
was deemed unsafe, prompting QPWS&P to integrate a new crossing that
coincided with the road widening works being undertaken by TMR, shifting
the crossing 200m to a more suitable position. This change required careful
design revisions and seamless coordination between agencies and on-site
Contractors.
Construction was delivered alongside active TMR roadworks, presenting
complex logistical challenges. Our experienced team managed site access
and staging with minimal disruption, including the creation of a temporary
bridge to transport materials and equipment across a sensitive waterway.
Precast concrete steps were used to achieve compliant grades, and sustainable
drainage solutions such as rock-armoured crossings were implemented.
This project reflects Trailworx Australia’s expertise in integrating technical
design, construction efficiency, and environmental care in dynamic field
conditions.
