Trailworx Australia to undertake an upgrade of a section of the Coastal Track located along the coast line bordering Noosa National Park. This destination with high scenic and ecological values is extremely popular with both visitors to the Sunshine Coast and local residents alike. The upgrades were divided into two separate projects to enable appropriate funding and to reduce impact to visitors and park users due to prolonged track closure. Working within Noosa National Park presented a number of significant challenges.

The delivery of materials required utilising a heli-lift operation due to the location of the works and the restricted access. Strategic planning between our team, QP&WS&P Rangers and the heli-lift operator was required to ensure the most efficient and safest methodology was employed. In total, the team lifted nearly 850 tonne of construction material across 40 hours of lift operations.

Both construction stages were delivered over separate 12 month time-frames with careful attention being paid to public access to the work site during non-operational times (including school holidays). This required ongoing control and strict safety protocols being put into practice.
